What inspires me?

I am really inspired by Quentin Tarantino and his work. His challenging of conventional film features is something I truly admire, particularly his work with sound; often contrapuntal to the plot being shown at that time for example in Reservoir Dogs where the cheerful melody of Stealers Wheel's 'Stuck in the Middle With You' plays alongside a series of shots showing one characters ear being removed from his head. The effect of this creates a comedic confusion in the audience as we are usually told how to feel via appropriate music not given a happy foot tapping classic to compliment the violent and discomforting visual of a man having his head kicked in. 

This could be something used within our piece as I really like the idea of letting the audience decide on how they feel rather than using music to decide for them.
